To the credit of Mark Estes' 2007 Diamond Tour, Vegas Billiards Buzzis establishing the 2010 Vegas Billiards Tour. The tour will use Mark's Las Vegas Player Ratings and some handicap formats. The mission of the 2010 Vegas Billiards Tour is to create a competitive tour for all levels of amateur players in a fun atmosphere in the year 2010. Stops will consist of a variety of host locations in Las Vegas. The tour is OPEN TO ALL PLAYERS. Qualified players with enough points will be eligible to play in the "Final Event" at the end of the season.

APA 9-Ball Tri-Annuals

This past Saturday, Mickey's Cues and Brews set the stage for the APA 9-Ball Tri-Annuals. 23 teams were out to battle for the first place prize of $1300. After a long day of play and many upsets four teams were left to the final rounds on Sunday. Under their captain's names, teams Jeff Miller, Catrina Gallegos, Gina Aragon, and Ron Konrad were the final four. Gina Aragon's team took on Catrina Gallegos' team and played a great match to win and move on to the final round. Ron Konrad's team took the lead and beat out Jeff Miller's team to see Gina's team in the finals. A nerve-racking final match had both teams on the edge. In the end, with a great performance by both teams, it was Ron Konrad's team who out played their opponents and took home the win. CONGRATULATIONS to Ron and his team!!!

CueSports International (CSI) presents the Annual Jay Swanson Memoral 9-Ball Tournament. Once again the action all goes down at host location, Hollywood Billiard in Hollywood, California.
Dating back to 1996 when this prestigious event began, the Jay Swanson Memorial, known as "the Swanee", has continued to grow in size and competition. Once tipping the field at 213 players, this event has now been limited to a full field at 192 players. Early registration is highly recommended.

The local American Poolplayers Association has been following a new path these past 2 months, under NEW League Operator Marv Rethman. But it is safe to say that some things will not change!
$7.00 weekly league fees have not increased in the past 8 years. And as hard as you try to make me raise them, I will stand fast! Because of the support you have shown the APA, and the struggling local economy, $7 will be the rate for poolplayers who come together to have a night out to relax, socialize, and be a little competitive with those who love pool.

MICKEY'S ONE-POCKET TOURNAMENT (HANDICAPPED)
Mickey's Cues and Brews would like to announce the start of a monthly one pocket tournament. This tournament will be a handicapped tournament and open to all players of any skill level. The first tournament will be held Sunday, January 31st, 2010.

I have played and studied the game for a long time. A lot of my time and energy was learning the dynamics of the spin on the pool balls, mostly the cue ball. This, to me, is the first understanding of learning to play position.
