Over the next few months I have lots of travel and events for which I will be out of town.  This makes it difficult to get envelopes, deliver standings, post to the website, or even play for that matter.  If you are familiar with my schedule, you know I travel at least 6 times a year.  Some of these trips interfere with the leagues and other do not.  Several of these are coming in the next three months so look for delays or missing weeks in the standings until I can get caught up.

Don't forget about our logo contest, win a free pool cue and have your design immortalized forever.

We are still missing a few names and numbers on the standings.  Please, if your player does not show a last name or even a misspelled name, make sure and note the score sheet with first and last names.

The memorial plaque is now finished and we need to fill it with names.  If you know of someone that needs to be added please add their name and approximate years they played so they can be added to the plaque.

The charity league is off and running again.  There was a location issue that caused a game the be re-scheduled.  And chasing down teams got the packets out late.  But we made it.

This season we are looking for a logo.  A couple entries have been received and more are expected.  The logo that is chosen for the league will win the designer a pool cue.  The logo will be for all official paperwork of the league.  Enter now and see your work immortalized for all time.

The memorial plaque needs names.  We took so long having it made that the names list was lost in the shuffle.  Add any members you would like to see on the plaque to your score sheet with a little note.

Team contacts are now listed on the weekly standings and on the website.  This is for the new forfeit rule.  Make sure and contact someone if you can not make it to a scheduled match.

We were lucky enough that the Standard Newspaper printed a story about the Charity League end of Season.  We hope to see more media attention on what we do.

At the end of this season we will be having two tournaments instead of one.  One will be for the top half of the players and the other for the bottom half of the players.  This will give more players a chance to win some money in the final event of our season.

There are only 10 teams listed for the upcoming charity league season.  These teams verified at the captain's meeting.  We can support up to 16 teams with the charity league table now at American Legion 22 in Golden Valley.  If you are not on a team, contact one of the officers for the league so you can make your donation to charity too.  The league wants to start on the 5th of May so time is short.  Now we lost another team.  We are down to nine (9).  With this few teams verified I can not do a schedule or get packets out today, and that is what we need to start on the 5th.

Changes were made at the last meeting and will be included in the captain's packets.  Make sure and look over the rules as they have changed.

Our remembrance plaque is finished and we need names for the plates.  If you know of any players that pasted while playing for the charity league, we need their names to add to the remembrance plaque.  Please write them on your score sheets with a little note next season or let someone know on the board know so we can get their name on the plaque.

There is also a Logo contest for this season.  We need a logo for the Service Clubs Charity Pool League of Kingman (SCCPL).  The winner will win a pool cue.  Please submit your entry before the end of this upcoming season.

It is that time of year again, when we all get together and celebrate what we do for charity.  We also have a nice big tournament and a banquet with great food.  This year The Eagles will be the host post for the End of Season Tournament and Banquet.  We will be having shredded beef and been burritos, wet or enchilada style, covered with green chili sauce.  How authentic and good, green chili is better than red chili any day.  When is it you say?  The tournament will be Saturday, March 25th.  And of course the dinner will follow on Sunday Night, March 26th.  We have hopes that there will be three table for the tournament.  This will make for a fast tournament with lots of people.

On another note, when the tournament is done, the league table needs a home until the next end of season.  If you can store the table in your house or garage for a season or two, please contact someone on the board.  Don't you want a practice table just sitting around begging for you to use it and improve your game?

We are still looking for a logo for the league.  There will be a contest for league members or their friends and family to design a logo for the league.  There will be prizes so enter as many designs as fast as possible so your name will be at the top of the heap for the prizes to be announced later in the year.  Prizes will be presented at the end of next season so time is short.

Almost 80 players are eligible for the free dinner at the end of the season.  But only 34 have RSVPed.  Please turn in this paperwork as soon as possible so we have a good idea who is coming to the Banquet.  Sportsmanship voting sheets were also distributed to all the teams.  These will be separated by team until all teams have voted.  Once all teams have turned in their paperwork, or the end of the season, they will be totaled.  The sooner we get these in the sooner we will know who the winner is.  Keep up the good work.  All the charities we support are thankful for all the work you do and it helps lots of people.

Even after all these years, one of the hardest things to collect is people personal information.  I understand that most of us want to stay under the radar and not give out personal info unless necessary.  There are two reasons we need this info for the players.  First is if a match needs to be rescheduled, forfeit, or even just late; the captain's and co-captain's contact info would make it easier for other teams or the league to contact the needed team.  The second situation is with players names.  First names are very common and we currently have three players named Bill on one team.  Without last names, it is hard to even tell what player to give the score to.  I have been asked several times if they are the same person.  I know that at least two of them are different people because twice two Bills played on the same night.  But I have no info to confirm this.  In this case one was named Bill, one Billy G, and one Bill R.  So I hope it right.  Both of the other Bills only have one night so it really doesn't make a difference, but people are asking so I thought I would give you the low down.  Good luck out there and I will see you on the tables.
